Empyrea Main Quest Line Guide

Empyrea Main Quest Line

This guide is meant as a tool to follow your progress while questing in Empyrea as well as a warning for when a cheating boss is coming soon. For this guide, I’m only listing the main quest line quests, aka storyline quests, which means the ones you have to do in order to get to the next area. Side quests are not mentioned.

Part 1: Wizard City to Dragonspyre

Part 2: Celestia to Avalon

Part 3: Azteca to Polaris

Part 4: Mirage

I list the quests you have to do in a certain area. The areas are listed in the order you should do them in (unless otherwise specified). The area is not always one hundred percent correct, as certain quests can require you to run back and forward between areas to talk to people. To simplify matters, I have not listed this kind of running; the quest will say “talk” but not where the NPC is located. Also, if there is only one quest in an area, I will not mention the area seperately. Between brackets are the different parts of the quest, as a quest will often require you to do multiple things.

I have divided the quests in the Spiral into the following groups:

  • Talk: Quests that require an interaction with an NPC.
  • Mob: Quests that require the defeat of regular monsters.
  • Elite: Quests that require the defeat of an elite creature.
  • D&C: Quests that require the collection of something from certain monsters (Defeat and Collect).
  • Boss: Quests that require the defeat of a boss. Elite monsters are not counted as bosses.
  • Minor Cheat: Quests that require defeating a boss that cheats a little (these cheats can generally be ignored).
  • Cheat: Quests that require the defeat of a cheating boss (these cheats will hinder normal gameplay somewhat).
  • Major Cheat: Quests the require the defeat of a cheating boss (these cheats will hinder normal gameplay significantly).
  • Instance: Quests that require the completion of a place behind a sigil with at least 2 battles.
  • Puzzle: Quests that require the solution to a puzzle.
  • Interact: Quests that require interaction with a certain object.
  • Collect: Quests that require interaction with multiple items of a kind.
  • Explore: Quests that just require you to run towards a certain area, NPC or item.
  • Solo: Quests you need to do alone.

Note that some of the quests might be labeled “defeat and collect” in game, but actually appear as mob battles in my guide. This is because many of the D&C quests in Mirage actually give you the item required on the first try. Only fights where I actually had to fight the same mob twice to get the item are labeled as D&C. The rest are labeled as mob fights. Maybe I just got lucky in some cases, so don’t hesitate to correct me in the comments if a mob quest took you multiple fights to complete!

World Info

Empyrea has a total of 79 quests. Among those quests, there are 21 regular mob fights, and 24 elite fights. I don’t really understand why this world is full of elite creatures. Some of these elites could very well be counted as bosses, while others are little more than mobs. There are 7 Defeat and Collect quests. Some of these take quite a while to be completed. I think on one of these quests, I had to engage in 7 battles to get what I needed from it. There is a total of 24 boss fights. Of these bosses, 7 are minor cheaters, and only 1 is a major cheater. There is one elite battle which I counted as “cheat elite”. There are 3 quests you have to do solo: two against a boss and one against a mob.

Empyrea has 2 excellent puzzles, which I love so much! One is a more intricate and longer version of the pet dance game and the other requires you to play shock-a-lock. These were so fun to do!

Empyrea is quite short, I would say. Maybe the same length as Polaris? Hard to say, as I haven’t quested in Polaris in a really long time. In any case, I finished Empyrea in three days. For me, it was long enough to get really into questing, but not long enough to make me bored.

Fairly sure the fight against Qhatwoman has a cheat where if you use an aura that she uses Supernova.
Also, after using one of her natural attacks, she may cheat-cast steal charm. That’s just my experience with test realm, however.

    • Mora Misthead

Could be! I generally don’t even notice minor cheats xD I’ll change it and we’ll check next time we quest through.

  • Blobfish the Normal

    HI.
Just to let you know, Trickster, the solo one, does have a cheat. It only happens like the 5th or 10th round, can’t remember. Also, it is seen that he always cast dark pact every first turn. I’ve done it five times now, the two times when it “accidentally” came out, another two times in test realm, and one time in the live realm, and in all of those times, he casted dark pact first round. Just to tell you know.

    • Blaze MeOut

not much of a cheat if it uses his turn on the first round using a regular dark pact… many minions you summon most likely tend to use a certain normal spell the first round, but that doesn’t really count as a cheat… Also, yes, the trickster does cheat. I don’t know if its triggered by his natural attack or not, but he does steal a couple of your pips and does damage per pip on you similar to mana burn.

  • Blaze MeOut

It’s crazy that this is only part 1 of the world. It feels like we reached the climax of the third arc just knowing that in the end the Raven also wants to destroy the spiral. BUT, what really shocked me was knowing that the wizard isn’t from the spiral! I mean it makes so much sense why we can use light and shadow magic so well because we aren’t inherently born good or evil. We just acquired power through knowledge. BUT dang, Merle Ambrose literally got us from another dimension, Earth, since the wizard world isn’t our own universe.

    • Hungry Pretzel

we already knew we werent from the spiral it says so in the dialogue when you make a new character

      • Blaze MeOut

Actually, it doesn’t. Merle Ambrose says we are from a far away world, but we have enough potential to one day defeat Malistaire. It never confirmed we weren’t from the spiral or confirmed we were from Earth. Even people from the Arcanum were shocked to hear we were from Earth! It’s a huge revelation. It wasn’t mentioned before Empyrea. It’s shocking because it continues to reveal more about ourselves similar to discover we were the chosen ones to awaken grandfather spider becoming a child of light and shadow.

        • Blaze MeOut

It honestly was comparable to breaking the fourth wall in a movie.

“The Path of Khan” is an instance quest. It is marked on here as a regular quest.

    • Mora Misthead

Thank you! That’s been corrected now 🙂

  • Wolf FireBreath

Imo, all the minor cheats are pretty major cheats lol. Caleban was wild, he would summon the dude and would literally always have a ton of pips from the pip steal from minion cheat. Also, the Khan battle was NOT a minor cheat unless you consider taking 2500 damage every 5 rounds minor lol, I had a bit of trouble soloing those. Also, Nightwyng was a cheat as well, he stole blades whenever I cast them.

    • Mora Misthead

I changed Khan, Khan and Nightwyng to “cheat” rather than “minor cheat”.

I never noticed that Khan cheated because he died before round 3. It’s hard to decide whether a boss is a minor cheat, regular cheat or major cheat. My battles are over so fast that none of it really ever seems like a big deal.

Thanks for the information! Did you run into any bosses you think we should write a guide about?

      • Wolf FireBreath

Hmm, so far all of the cheat bosses have been alright, no real struggles. I’ve been trying to solo everything on my fire which is kinda tough but no SERIOUS road blocks in terms of cheat bosses. I don’t think there needs to be any guides though because there are no new cheats that I’ve seen (so far).

Np, and thank you for making this wonderful guide 🙂

  • Wolf FireBreath

Also, Baane is a cheat boss, he switched the turn like grandfather spider did

    • Mora Misthead

Who was Baane again? What quest? I don’t remember him xD

      • Wolf FireBreath

Baane was when we first met the Bat and Medulla in the Bat Cave. He was the boss in Meeting of the Minds. He was wild, ton of damage boost, he would switch whose turn it was every couple of turns.

        • Mora Misthead

Maybe I should solo like you, I feel like I missed all the excitement by killing everything in round 2 xD

          • Wolf FireBreath

            Lolz, I always loved soloing

    • Wolf FireBreath

Oh and Afraid of the Dark is an instance quest

      • Wolf FireBreath

There’s a talk quest : Lava Trouble! before A Hot Mess

        • Wolf FireBreath

The Terror (Boss in the quest Tunnel of Terror) is a cheat, he called out “you had your chance, I’m ending this” and his Gaze of Fate (which he used first turn) gives an increase to sun damage. He also said “ROAAAR” and used a +100% fire blade kinda out of nowhere.

          Small cheats, but cheats nonetheless
