Wizard101 Tartarus, Aquila Level 90 Dungeon

Tartarus – The Final Immortal Game

Epic graphics, epic battles and epic gear!  Kingsisle ups the game with this Wizard101 dungeon.

To obtain this quest your wizard must be level 90.

A Rarified Invitation

Cyrus Drake summons to the ‘Wrath of the Immortals’ [0:51] quest.  After attracting so much attention by defeating Zeus and Poseidon in their realms, you meet a Harpy Messenger.  She stands aside Drake and opposite the Quetzal Messenger in the Myth school.

She is not a happy harpy.  She screeches about your incompetence just before she delivers the message for you to battle nightmares in Tartarus.  The upmost challenge from the Immortals is to meet the lost brother, Hades the Unseen.  Despite the Harpy’s vision that you will fail, Cyrus exclaims to ignore the puffed-up pigeon and head for Legionnaire Romulus on Cyclops Lane for stories of Tartarus.

Romulus-IconHades sent for YOU

When you ‘Talk to Romulus in Cyclops Lane’ [2:37] Romulus is terrified for you and explains that Tartarus is a realm of suffering.  Great Hades the Unseen lives amongst the spirits of the dead!  Romulus points you to the Chariot of Aethon once again to reach Silenus in the Garden of Hesperides to quest for the ’Lost Pompeii.’ [3:23]

Bright-eyed DaysErytheia-Icon

Seek the ultimate test?  (Well, the ultimate test thus far in Wizard101.)  ‘Midnight in the Garden’ [4:13] leads to his youngest daughter Erytheia.

She goes into additional detail about how the Pompeii people pursued forbidden arts. The Immortals sent a Gorgon to attack them without mercy. She bids farewell and returns you to Silenus once more.

Coincidentally, Erytheia also has the quest Revenge of the Immortals’ [6:12] which is to Cronus, the extra boss in Tartus.

Silenus-IconSilenus sends you to the abyss, to seek the poet Orpheus.  He warns the Immortals do not play fair.  ‘Into the Depths’ [6:00] through the screaming gates we go!

Beyond the Sigil

Fall of Pompeii

Orpheus sends you to the House of Faun for a guide. ‘Locate the House of Faun’ [7:32] to ‘Defeat Death Satyr.’ [7:42]

Battle OneDeath-Satyr

Finally a battle!  They all begin with six (6) pips to twelve (12) pips. (Closer to 10-12.)

  • Death Satyr, rank 12 Death boss, 15,500 health
  • Lamenting Sprite, rank 12 elite Ice, 3,600 health
  • Night Imp, rank 12 elite Myth, 3,350 health
  • Anguished Woodman, rank 12 elite Fire, 3,300 health

I like the tank and hammer approach to all of these battles.  I send a player in with resist/higher health first. This player draws the attention of the enemies. That allows all players to concentrate on setting up a quick hit. I used Ice, Life and Storm while perfecting my plan of action.  Three players works well, but four will make it even faster.  Two will slow it down a bit.

A couple of feints and a few blades is all it takes to defeat the House of Faun. Expect spells to slow you down such as Blinding Light, Smoke Screen, Tower Shields and Legion Shields.  You might even see an Efreet; however, with the first player drawing the hits you should be able to steer clear of the weakness.  I also find it helpful maintain a supply of Pierce/Steal Ward and Cleanse Charms in side decks because Death Satyr likes to use Virulent Plague and they may throw a shield on him.

After you defeat him, ‘Talk to the Death Satyr.’ [10:45]  He sends you with a silver obol to ‘Talk to Charon.’ [11:20]

Come Sail Away

Petrified-WoodSet an open course to freedom.  The Death Satyr gives you payment to cross the River of Souls.  Unfortunately, Charon’s ship is shattered and you must ‘Find 6 (six) Petrified Wood’ [12:30] throughout the dungeon thus far.

Two of the six pieces lie very close to mobs with a very narrow area to walk around without being caught.  The mobs are easy enough to defeat, however, they will slow you down and are not required.  (It is a bit faster to flee and return to the dungeon.)  The Petrified Wood will regenerate after some time if you would rather wait to collect them away from the mobs.  See the video for the exact locations of the Petrified Wood.  Carry on!

CharonI send one player down to Charon as the other players collect the wood.  One goes back toward Orpheus while another goes around the two mobs.  I would use the player with the least amount of lag to go after the two around the mobs.  Everyone should have full health before moving on to ‘Go to Charon’s Boat.’ [13:55]

Across the Styx

Take a long walk to the Temple of Longing.  ‘Locate Garden of Statues.’ [14:05] The statues in the garden are interestingly interactive.  The only benefit is a giggle or two. Before you may enter the temple where The Gorgon Stheno, sister to Medusa dwells, you must ‘Defeat Death Minotaur.’ [14:08]

Death-MinoBattle Two

The enemies begin with six (6) pips to twelve (12) pips. (Closer to 12 pips.)

  • Death Minotaur, Rank 13 Death boss, 19,800 health
  • Three Ill-Fated Serpentine, rank 12 elite Balance, health 3,400

Send a tank in first round to draw their attention.  This is a straightforward power hit battle.  Set up multiple blades and Feints to hit with one all enemy attack.

First round the Death Minotaur casts a Death field of damage, not Doom and Gloom.  Prepare for shield and weakness removal.  Even with a quick set up of blades and Feints, I have seen Nova, Virulent Plague and Elemental Shields used.

Tip: As with the last battle, if going second, consider casting a Cleanse Charm on your hammer IF Death Minotaur will have 3 or more pips. Virulent Plague decreases your attack significantly.

Stheno-and-Grecian-UrnLiving Breathing Warm Blooded Wizard

Puzzle Time

‘Talk to Stheno’ [18:35] in the Temple of Longing.  (Her hissing makes me giggle every time!)  The Minotaur broke her Grecian Urn.  If you fix it, you may pass.  If not, the Oran Silverhorn method works too. (Oran likes to ignore puzzles and do the battles.)

Enter four (4) Serpent Mazes.  In each maze you find a piece of the Urn.  The order in which they are found does not matter.  The order in which you put them together does matter.   As you enter the maze, look for the text ‘Urn Piece’ to find it quickly by looking over the tops of the walls.  The mazes are fairly easy.  As in many Wizard101 mazes, the outside edges typically allow you to reach the end the quickest.  You will also find a helpful walkway horizontal through the middle of the maze. Watch the video beginning at [21:21] for maze specifics.

Urn-Piece‘Repair Urn’ [23:43] after finding all of the pieces.  Assemble them in numerical order from (I, II, III, IV) 1-4.  They are noted in roman numerals on stone plaques under the pieces

After restoring the Urn to its magnificent glory, you must ‘Find Lion’s Tail Leaves’ [24:14] to feed Cerberus.  Ugh, back in the maze again!

Tip: With multiple players, I typically leave one in a maze by the Lion’s Tail to grab the leaves. Note: A player will have to exit the maze after all of the Urn pieces are collected to complete the ‘Repair Urn’ quest.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie? I wish.

You go through the trouble of collecting the leaves and feeding the dog for nothing, you still battle his heads.  Yes, his heads.  They each appear atop a flame.   This is also the worst voiceover in Wizard101 history.  The dog (human) barks at you with a “RAWR! RAWR! RAWR!” I would love to see an update here, even if it is the narrator saying the dog barks at you.  Maybe the current “RAWR!” will grow on me, but so far it hasn’t.

Once you ‘Locate Cerberus’ [25:11] then ‘Feed Cerberus’ [25:26] then try to ‘Sneak by Cerberus’[25:39] you must ‘Defeat Cerberus.’ [26:01]

Third Battle (Or 4th if you battle Stheno)

They are all rank 13 bosses with 14,600 health and begin the battle with six (6) to twelve (12) pips.  (Closer to 12)

  • Myth begins the battle with three 40% towers. Cleanses most traps.
  • Balance begins the battle with three 40% towers. Cleanses most traps.
  • Fire: Traps allowed

You could remove the towers (Shatter, 6 wands/Pierce/Steal Ward, or 2 Fire Elves) and deal with their ‘Guard Me’ attacks.  They will remove all shields at the beginning of the 5th turn and replace them with 3 new Tower Shields.  At round 10, Myth will cleanse, put them up, and then move them to Fire. If you attack them one by one and defeat the fire head, they will remove all trap at their cleansing and not put them back up.  They will still disallow most traps.  Pet traps may work. That being said, there is no need to wait.

I choose to essentially ignore the towers and boost my pierce with spears and Infallible.  If you only use your school Spear and trained Infallible, it reduces the Tower Shield by 25% not including any piercing you have on your gear.  Add a treasure spear or Elemental/Spirit Spear and it reduces even more.  TC Infallible will pierce at 20%.  It is entirely possible to reduce their shield to zero.  Hades gear does offering piercing.  As you gain the pieces, it may behoove you to start wearing them.

Tip: Vaporize will reduce the chance of Earthquake, stuns and will allow you to place traps on them. You could spend all your time Vaporizing, and while it would be effective, it isn’t entirely necessary. One or two to avoid Earthquake would be nice, but adding an additional Vaporize for Traps/Feints, may become more time consuming than adding an extra 2 blades to cover the difference. Find the balance that works for you.

A Quick Hop up the Stairs

Cerberus is defeated with another humanist canine voice over “Yipe! Yipe! Yipe!” (I’m sure there is a reason, but really KI? You usually excel at this! Oy!) You can now ‘Locate Hall of Hades.’[34:21]

If your health needs a boost, and you wish to save a potion, walk back to the Garden of Statues for red wisps.

Hades the Unseen, Poseidon Earth-Shaker and Zeus Sky Father greet you in the Hall.  They express they will not hold anything back and fully anticipate your defeat.  Now, it is time to ‘Defeat Hades the Unseen.’ [36:19]

Hades-Poseidon-and-ZeusFinal Battle — The Three Amigos

Zeus will use Earthquake.  Using Vaporize on Zeus is very effective.  Vaporize is also effective for lessening the stuns from Blinding Light, Medusa and Basilisk.  ****Be sure to take Pierce/Steal Ward and Cleanse Charm.  They use Virulent Plague and Tower Shield.

They are all rank 13 bosses that begin with seven (7) to fourteen (14) pips. (Usually at least 12.) See [35:07] for additional detail.

  • Hades is Death with health 22,500
  • Poseidon is Storm with health 25,000 and also uses Ice spells
  • Zeus is Myth with health 27,500 and also uses Storm spells

Send a tank in and consider using Fortify.  Stay alive or Hades will cast heals over time to his team that are incredibly annoying.  He will cast one for every one on his team that is standing.  Imagine a 3v3 PvP match with 3 heals over time on every wizard. If a second member of your team is defeated, he will cast 3 more!  If all three are standing, that is six heals over time on each one of them.

One all enemy hit is possible for all schools, but a bit more difficult with storm.  Think speedy hit.  Use a very small deck with only the cards you need, including treasures.  Stack blades on last player to hit as quickly as possible.  If you are second, consider using a Cleanse Charm on the one casting the massive power swing.  Poseidon may also tower, so a Pierce/Steal Ward may be in order also.

Try not to miss, but it isn’t over if you do. If your hit fails you have options.  Reshuffle and start over.  You may not have any treasure cards blades left, but you will have your hit and your trained blades.  Most likely, you won’t need anything else.  If you are out, it is possible to flee and walk back to the battle.  Being in the battle longer does mean you are taking on additional damage and may need healing.

Learn More:  Breaking down the battle even further

It’s all about effectiveness of speed for me.

Click each tab to read more about my thoughts on using Storm, the best spells for all Schools, why I like using Ice as the hammer and example spells to cast and what you need to know about healing.

Using a Storm as a hammer in the Hades battle required some thought and a bit of trial and error.  In my attempts, the easiest way seemed to be two hits.  Why 2? There are a couple of additional issues to overcome for Storm because of Poseidon.  He has high Storm resist like most Storm bosses at this level of play.  He does not allow Storm Prism to be placed on him.

The best work around I have found in the Atlantea final battle with Poseidon is to use Mass Storm Prism.  You have to work quickly because his natural attack will remove it, but it does allow you to power hit once and be done.  In this battle, Mass Storm Prism causes an additional issue.  Zeus is Myth and to convert to Myth on his increased Myth resist is futile.  You could add a Myth Prism to him first, then Mass Storm Prism turning the hit from Storm to Myth to Storm.

You could use a storm wand on the Mass Storm Prism on Zeus if you are so inclined; however, you are still dealing with a speed and/or a stun issue.  Let’s say Storm is in the last spot all bladed up and ready to hit and uses Mass Storm Prism.  Any player before the Storm could use any Storm spell on Zeus, another player could even put up a Feint after if you need it.  If you are first, you may be safe.  If not, you run the risk of any player being stunned or Poseidon using his natural attack and removing the prism.  You could use dispels on Zeus to prevent the stun, but not on Poseidon because of his ‘cheat.’

Is it possible to make this work? Sure is. Is it worth it?  I think not, but you may feel otherwise.  I found it more consistent to hit once to defeat Hades and Zeus with a multi-hit spell, and then hit again a singular hit for Poseidon with a Mass Storm Prism.  A Storm Lord and Triton work well.Mass-Storm-Prism

Another alternative would be to blade two players and the storm do the bulk of the damage by defeating Hades and Zeus and another player defeat Poseidon.  This would also work well because Storm with stacked Feints and blades will be able to reach the targeted amount of damage and hit fairly quickly.

See the video [35:23] of the Mass Storm Prism plus Leviathan hit on Poseidon.

I would not use damage over time hit, even with Fire.  Meteor Strike will be effective without triggering their cheats.

I would use the following with my best damage gear, a bunch of blades, and a Colossus. I might add a Feint to Zeus for an extra boost.

  • Frost Giant
  • Storm Lord/Tritan on Poseidon with Mass Storm Prism
  • Forest Lord
  • Humungofrog or Earthquake with Myth Prism on Zeus
  • Meteor Strike
  • Scarecrow with Death Prism on Hades
Ice no backgroundI like Ice as a hammer for this battle very much and it works very well for me.  In my set up with Life, Storm and Ice, I set my Life and Storm up with the highest resistant gear I can muster from my backpack.  Remember, you need the most resist to Storm, Ice, Myth, and Death.

With my gear on Ice, I need 10-11 buffs.  There are many combinations of blades and Auras that work.  There is an added benefit in this battle for Ice.  Ice Helephant is frequently used and creates a Balefrost. This is demonstrated in the video.

This is how I set it up to give you an example.  Many other combinations would work too depending on your players. With four players it could go a bit faster, with two players a bit slower.

  • Fortify first turn (Only wizard in the battle)
  • Vaporize Zeus
  • Balance Blade from Amulet
  • Treasure Iceblade
  • Elemental Blade
  • Heal (This player will be hit the hardest and will go in first to battle alone.)

Player 2

  • Feint on Zeus
  • Elemental Blade with Sharpen
  • Dragonblade from pet or Treasure Elemental Blade
  • Treasure Dark Pact
  • Heal vs Vaporize on Zeus

  • Iceblade
  • Iceblade with Sharpen
  • Iceblade Vial Amulet
  • Berserk or Sleet Storm
  • Frost Giant with Colossal
healingIf you have enough resist, you may be able to get out of the battle without healing. I recommend taking at least one heal on each player that can be used on anyone.  There are critical sucker punches from time to time that cannot be avoided.

Rebirths will trigger a hit from Zeus with a Minotaur, but it is minor damage. Primordial Unicorns work without issues.

I do like to leave battles ready for the next one.  Often, I will use heals if I have extra turns, even if they aren’t needed to complete the battle.  This is useful when farming for loot. There are many red wisps at the beginning of the dungeon.  If you plan on going right back into Tartarus, you can heal up there, thus skipping the victory heal.

If worse comes to worse during battle, a defeated player may flee to the Garden of Hesperides and walk back to the sigil, enter alone, and walk back into the battle.

Special Housing Items!

Behind Hades, or the enemy in the Dagger spot, there is a ‘Hades the Unseen Mural’ [40:35] for you to collect.  Walk up and click ‘X.’ You can also pick up an ‘Underworld Brazier [11:27] and an ‘Ember Stone of Tartarus.’ [11:41] (I have been able to get two of the items if I double click x really fast.) See all of them in my dorm room at [44:51]

If you want the top of the line Hades gear, channel your inner farmer Joe.  Deck renaming can make farming this dungeon quicker.  Once you find your preferred strategy, you can just switch out decks to go faster.  Remember to reload things like treasure Cleanse Charms and Pierce and any treasures used for your final battle. Here are a few examples of the gear.

Hades Farming

Currently, there is a way to get Hades to reappear after the battle a second time.  Place a mark inside the Hall of Hades then defeat Hades (not Zeus and Poseidon.)   Have the person who marked then flee the battle and return via the mark.  Join the battle for the defeat of Zeus and Poseidon.  Watch Hades magically reappear!

Kudos to KI

I have to give Kingsisle a lot of credit for this update.  We were in desperate need of a top level gear updates and they delivered.  The gear obtained will have an effect on PvP and all the resistant gear currently being used.

The concept of giving top level players updated gear while supplying levels for Magus and Transcended wizards is an A+ in my book.  Now, there are options to farming Mooshu bosses and Waterworks for gear to stay afloat in PvP at those levels too.

Thank you Kingsisle for bringing Aquila to us.

Happy questing and good luck on speedy gear collection!

I looked up the song Come sail away by Styx. Nice job KI of that Easter Egg.

If only you could skip Cerberus x_x

  • Oh joy

The amber drop is nice 🙂

  • Oh joy

The ice ring and athame now means ice can get immunity with a good pet or 90 or so resist with jade gear and still have good with the right pet I: KI is making inflation per say, so much resist, not enought to combat. Hope change comes. Or else pvp will forever be overturned to high resist

    • Oh joy

At least the healing boost isn’t thought the roof. But with mc fairy out there that casts after someone blading, defeating these players is going to be extremely difficult without high pierce and 1 pip dooms

    • Blaze MeOut

Fire is actually still a managable school the problem is is that most people use fire school the wrong way … fire is the second highest attack school after storm and what makes them more dangerous is there dot … with the immune fire turtles, high tankers, and the jade empire it might seem fire and storm got no chance but actually thanks to aquila they can get high tempo through all that … 454-500 crtiical is about 82% which even azteca bosses can’t block … with high attack and pierce and no block ice and other schools will need a lot of resist for those two schools since block seems not effective to at least survive … fire has a little more resist in ice gear than storm gear because storm is more focused on direct hitting and fire is focused on dots … its easier to shield a storm direct hit rather than a fire dot so it balances out

      • Blaze MeOut

it was kingsisle’s plan to bring out the best in the middle first with waterworks than with defense for example jade gear … with a lot of defense the balance shifted to defense players then kingsisle planned the use of the worldburner wand and aquila which is offensive gear in response to analyzing a weakness and balance on defensive players … kingsisle in the end will bring schools at balance … there is no middle side to pick either your good at offense or defense … eventually using waterworks gear will bring you in the middle which is the weakest spot to be good in pvp with too extremes balancing out … waterworks will only make you good against balanced stat players not extreme players so depending on your schools pick a side is the message kingsisle is giving

        • Oh joy

Yes but if i am a fire using azteca crafting gears, and has no pierce i need to infallible. My friend has 107 fire resist. Which means when I use s regular infallible it goes down to 92. Critical helps, but a pet heal will even it out. Fire’s damage might be high, but against immunity, its useless. Also spells like shift, cool down, and triage will negate all dots. Sorry, but fire is getting screwed over and we can’t do anything about it.

          • Blaze MeOut

Dude i am a critical type fire with a double resist pet and i use salamander boots from crown shop, azteca crafted robe, hades crown of blazes, hades wand, amulet of divine power, and the aquila athame and ring it gives me 454 critical and 120 block plus 18% pierce and 75% attack … i use infallible and extraordinary in pvp giving me about 48% pierce and they can’t block 107% fire resist is not bad for ice they would need it XD plus ice barely uses triage and shift those things belong to schools like myth or life which have way lower resist on fire than ice, fire and storm are given gear thats really good for offense and piercing they should learn to use it well

          • Oh joy

So what your saying is that ALL fire wizards have piercing? Hmm? No. Also not everyone has your fire’s stats. Also all school get get 70+ resist with jade gear.

          • Blaze MeOut

schools arent suppose to have balance stats … some schools are fitted best with certain stats with than others … its always like this even with other games so learn how to use your best stats first … this is how the game creates balance … if everyone had even stats why not just have a balance wizard as the only choice is in this game

          • Oh joy

Blaze, my point is immunity, it isn’t about balance, its about fairness. Now I need pierce or convert to beat some/most ice players? Get it? Does that seem fair to you?

          • Blaze MeOut

hmm try this … because aquila gear in tartarus dungeon offers the unseen gear which is the same defense as waterworks good attacks, power pips, a little pierce, and gives good critical and block with it in exhange for absolutely no accuracy use that instead … accuracy wont matter as long as you use the sun spell enchant extraordinary with can give really high pierce and 100% accuracy plus infallible plus you wont have to worry about noob pips because you got the power pips chance about in the 80-97% range

          • Oh joy

That only helps if i have the gear and I’m lvl 90

          • Blaze MeOut

then what are you complaining about this is about lvl 90 pvp and gear …

          • Oh joy

NO!!!! Did you not read my first comment???? I am complaining about the easy access to immunity now.

          • Blaze MeOut

yeah for lvl 90 ice people right but you do realize that fire and storm can get up to more than 50% pierce in battle and more 66% pierce if they use the spear blades right? because i actually can get 51% pierce right now without the spears its gonna be 54% soon 😀

          • Oh joy

I do have a lvl 90… Also, your stereotyping that all fire and storm wizards have pierce, also what if on my fire BEFORE it got to ninety i wanted to do pvp right, now i don’t have much IF ANY pierce. The fact is that this isnt really so much about immunity to you its about YOUR stats and the stats of some other fire wizards… But again not everyone have a ton of pierce like you do… And don’t its excess able because this think is immunity is not fair by any means.

          • Blaze MeOut

lol yeah i know everyone is not the same in this game … your obstacle is immunity right … so why keep complaining and just find a way to deal around it … life gives you obstacles find a way to go through it … dont just give up and go back and complain to your parents find a way … immunity is just one obstacle guess what my solution was high pierce i mean why did Kingsisle made highest pierce stats for the higher attacking schools like storm and fire and give none or little to weak attacking schools like ice or life gets what i kill them very easily guess what i am just making some suggestions … if you dont try to open up your possibilities and move past waterworks or balanced gear the more you lvl up the more your gonna fail … critical and block gear actually goes down by percentage the more you lvl up … eventually waterworks gear isnt gonna be proven the best gear for max lvl because it will have little block and little critical to be even useful plus little health and weak stats … and your problem is immunity???? dude i have friends that are ice warlords that are complaining that pvp isnt fun no more because fire and storm kill them too fast …

          • Blaze MeOut

and also i was just suggesting to use your schools strengths and weaknesses to your advantage the more players lvl the more the schools get secialized and a reputation for it … everyone isnt the same your right but your given in your school the advantages and weaknesses you get like everyone else … also are you just scared of immunity? … dude there are undefeated storm warlords out there with no defense what so ever that are killing jades like they are nothing how are you going to compete with balanced gear if there are enemies that can kill you in an instant and enemies that you cannot kill at all … defense and pierce are both deadly for a wizard but one cannot have both types they are both deadly 66% pierce and the ability to critical with no block or 104% immunity and high defense to compensate attacks being in the middle is got to be the hardest pvp set up now with 2 polar ends on a spectrum

          • Blaze MeOut

i was a waterworks gear player that used to complain about fire immunity just like you until aquila came out … that gear changed my life i didnt even have to use any crowns to buy gear … it was the best gear i ever gotten because i killed about 6 jade users in rank one night with my storm friend in like 3 rounds dude if your not going to farm your missing out XDDD i like how this game is able to express who you are …

          • Oh joy

Blaze I have no problem with immunity. But other people do, you can’t base your thing of high pierce to say all fires have it. get it? If i was lvl 80 would i have access to. That piercing? No. If i was 89 would i no, that’s my point immunity starts as low 70 I’m pretty sure, which means the other classes dont have enought pierce to get around it. But at 90 its no longer a problem and the only problem is getting the gear. And just because i complain about something doesn’t mean i have a real problem with it, its just plain unfair that one school can have immunity to a school, and to conclude you might have all that pierce, but all it takes is a tower to cut off that pierce, unless you burn. So please dont reply to this, but to say immunity is fair is dumb.

          • Blaze MeOut

actually you can get high pierce starting at lvl 61 immunity and pierce and high offensive critical gear actually all started with zafaria so saying immunity starts as low as lvl 70 … high piercing and offensive set up starts there too … if someone creates light there is always a dark shadow … light cannot exist without shadow and shadow cannot exist without light … thing about it is offensive gear is really easy to get but people just dont get it or throw it away because they are still chasing the hopeless dream of getting gear better than waterworks … offensive gear is designed to kill defense … defense is designed to kill offense … being in the middle what are you designed to kill

The “offensive gear” is terrible and blaze this is a dumb argument i am done here.

          • Blaze MeOut

look gear up in central there is some offensive gear with some pierce and high critical starting in zafaria

          • Blaze MeOut

and like i said the new gear is mostly lvl 90 gear so why complain about higher lvl pvp if your not even up there yet

          • Blaze MeOut

each school has specialty and weaknesses not every school can have resist like ice

    • Blaze MeOut

Kingsisle still appreciates waterworks middle players but they are trying to imply the message to you that being in the middle is not the best … you can tell in the gear because its always extremely focused on defense or offense these days … they want each wizard to have a weakness and a strength …. like how creatures boost and resist in pvp so it balances out … being in the middle will make you like balance bosses … its really hard for a balance to kill a balance boss because it has no strength no weakness and when they attack its really uneffective against eachother

      • On my balance, its pretty easy to kill a balance boss lol

All I have to do is use a well bladed chimera, and it usually one hit kills.

        • Merle Ambrose

          To: Jeff and Blaze

Ah. good day young wizards.. i see your confusion.. yes it is easy for a balance to kill another balance boss. That is very true Blaze, as wizard101 is about understanding your weakness and strengths like in real life and you can get stronger with friends… We try to apply as much friend related issues as we can so everyone can learn to make friends and have friends

          ~Merle Ambrose~

    • Blaze MeOut

pets are also there to cover up your weakpoints they are designed predetermined when they hatch to give the talents in response to how your wizard plays in the game

  • Swordroll

I think the real drop worth having is the Amulet of Divine Influence!

  • popcicool7777777

VERY nice video, Heather! I succeeded Tartarus by following you guide! Good job again!

  • jewelshadowcaster

I really like this new side world update. But my concern goes to insane critical build. We can already see storms with 500+ critical in arena, yes it has no resist cause it goes with critical pet as well. Right now, I’m not sure that anyone can block that. This pick just shows one of the many

    • Oh joy

Not to mention with infallible up their piercing is up to 40% and tc infallible its 45% pierce. Shielding doesn’t need to go up, but pierce needs to go down. Pvp is going through a period of inflation, attack, critical, pierce, and shielding are up without a balance, a new waterworks is need for gear of balance, not new stats that make the seesaw fly up and and the other side drop down

      • ChoGath

Way back when, It was possible to build a high tempo wizard / deck. Then came along all the resistance and healing boosts, so much so that we had nearly immune turtles that created hours long games – even in spite of the (silly) 1x use reshuffle. I’m OK with the evolving meta-game moving back to allow high tempo games to work again. I’ve never liked the critical system when it was a low percentage event. Nowadays, you can create a high probability event, so it’s becoming a “plan-able” thing. High level dueling may get more fun.

        • Oh joy

It’s fun. But if critical is so high you can’t block it, then its just discouraging, and it means you need take the offensive approach or the defensive approach. I hate both

          • Blaze MeOut

if your a balanced player why didnt you pick balance

          • Oh joy

Um… I’m talking about play style and i do have a balance warlord

    • swaggy tyler 360

nice critical rating it’s pretty high

  • THEDeathWizard87

for farming tartarus i may just go in on my balance with my death brother and it actually goes pretty quickly
in the hades battle we stack blades on him and feints on hades (who does NOT need a prism, he actually boosts to death) and zeus and use a scarecrow to kill them off and do some damage on poseidon, we then reshuffle and use a dr. von on poseidon

  • Jonathan Lester

  • Luke

Um, why did they need to put 12% Pierce on one piece of Gear?

  • carson

anyone having trouble on getting in a run? I am only 11 and have been getting bullied when trying to get in a run

  • Yolo yobro

Maybe there should be a new dungeon called cheaters tower

    The first boss
    Health: 24985
    Rank: 14 boss
    School: myth
-If you blade while talieth is alive without it being enchanted talieth will cast earthquake
-if you fizzle while talieth is alive he will cast a 2000 damage medusa on you with no stun
-if you cast a single damage hit on talieth that does less than 1000…

  • Leonard Asican

Thumbs up! 😀 How can you make those tabs on that part on “learn more”?

  • Hannah Gold

do you know about “stun run”??? its sooo much faster and more fun!!!

  • Hannah Gold

  • Mason E

The minotaur’s cheat is that he puts a +75% death trap on whoever casted a critical heal (if that isn’t mentioned already)

    • Mason E

actually, a rank 4 or higher heal

  • swaggy tyler 360
