Level 118 School Pets and Hybrids

Kingsisle teased us and now we finally have our new pets! :v Here is quick recap of what pets the Arcanum has brought us as well some new hybrids you’ve may or may not have seen.

The Quest

You can get the quest for your school pet from your teacher in the Arcanum. They will send you to a location to defeat a boss that uses the actual pet and its spells. Don’t worry too much about the battle: you will face a boss of your own school with only about 9000 hp. They don’t cheat, though the Myth boss uses weird off-school spells like Tower Shield and Balanceblade. The other bosses stick to their own school’s spells, so Life wizards can expect to be attacked by heaps of mean Imps for example.

Fire: Charging Bull pet

This pet looks like a mean taco shell but don’t let it fool you!

Ice: Borealis Golem pet

I would advise pet owners to hide any anchors holding the spiral together.

Storm: Rain Core

Woo, a storm over time attack! I just wish it had a set number of pips and not “x”, since it makes this card very situational.

Death: Ghulture pet

Careful, I’m not sure if birds should even be allowed to have such deadly swords.

 Life: Kookaburra pet

A cheap AOE, one step closer to what Life wizards want.

Myth: Wandering Eye pet

I wonder if this pet blinks. Staring contest anyone?

Blades! This pet will be handy in questing and when attempting to reach one in a million.

Level 118 Pet Hybrids

There are also 15 hybrids available. Hybrid pets are special pets which can be hatched by breeding specific pairs of pets. My experience is that hatching an Opossum with a Kookaburra can result in 4 different pets for both owners: an Opossum, a Lively Opossum, a Kookaburra or a Noble Kookaburra. Going “first” on the sigil doesn’t seem to have an effect.

Opossum + Kookaburra = Lively Opossum
Opossum + Ghulture = Ghastly Opossum
Raging Bull + Kookaburra = Courageous Bull
Raging Bull + Rain Core = Charging Bull
Raging Bull + Opossum = Gallant Bull
Kookaburra + Raging Bull = Ornery Kookaburra
Kookaburra + Opossum = Noble Kookaburra
Wandering Eye + Ghulture = Gloomy Eye
Wandering Eye + Borealis Golem = Frosty Eye
Rain Core + Ghulture = Acid Rain Core
Rain Core + Borealis Golem = Freezing Rain Core
Borealis Golem + Wandering Eye = Arcane Golem
Borealis Golem + Raging Bull = Ember Golem
Ghulture + Wandering Eye = Enigmatic Ghulture
Ghulture + Rain Core = Clamoring Ghulture

Opossum + Kookaburra = Lively Oposs

The blades! This will come in handy for any life hitters/jades that want a little more out of life.

*gasp* The blades! Definitely makes things deadly for skeleton dragon users!

Raging Bull + Kookaburra = Courageous Bull

It’s like a taco shell, only healthier? The Lifeblade is a nice bonus to jades who want to use this pet for the stun and choke.

This is quite a shock (meme intended)! A cloud of fire would have personally looked a lot cooler to me but I’m all for purple tacos shells!

Once again another taco shell… Careful, this one has some sand on it and of course… the blade!

I’m starting to wonder if maybe these should have been the spells placed on Raging Bull instead. I do understand the gist… with Power Link having the Fire and Life symbols.

A one pip AoE stun?! Has the world gone mad? This pet may serve to be useful and clutch in team pvp.

Is this my least favorite hybrid? Possibly. I would have kept the feint or I would maybe have added in a storm fuel. Interesting how the pet lacks the death part… minus the looks of course!

Final Thoughts?

These pets have definitely been added to my collection list and I must say, they’re cute and awesome. Of course they can’t directly replace broken pets like the Moose. Still, they do — for many of us — add more reason to continue playing! If you haven’t heard already, Kingsisle is working really hard on getting their games like wiz and pirate into Steam so help us help them and rate their games so that we may one day bring back another wave of players and updates. On a final note, I’d like to thank and remind Benjamin MythEyes that waffles rain supreme in the hatchery.

Why is there a picture of cabbage tacos in the raging bull hybrid section…?

    • Mora Misthead

You missed the whole joke, congratulations xD

    • Alex Thunderstaff

It’s the purple taco lol * bows down *

  • Noah West

You put the fire bull as the fire charging bull, it’s I think raging bull

    • Mora Misthead

Indeed, not charging, raging! Fixed it 🙂

  • James Earthwalker

Incredibly disappointed in the fact that there are so little Life hybrids. I would KILL to see a Life Borealis Golem or Wandering Eye.

    • Mora Misthead

Hmm, life has the same amount of hybrids as most other schools… I think all of them have 4 hybrids except for fire, who got 5. I’m not good at counting though xD

  • Guest

Once again death gets the short end of the stick. The ghulture pet is pretty ugly imo. It seems that kings isle loves fire by giving them a pet based off a shadow spell.

    • The Power

That’s okay though, one pet is always going to have the coolest aethstetic. Fire just happened to get that one this time. Then again that is massively based on opinion but the majority from my experience seem to favor the Raging Bull.

      • Guest

It’s not just this. Every single good pack wand has either death hits or death may cast. Why don’t they make sooth sayer wand shadow hits? Also, death has zero good combo spells, and has no low pip spell that can be spammed. Lulu is also too weak, base damage should be 950 imo. Even if the only thing kings isle changed was adding headless horseman as learned spell for death, the school would be a little better in pvp. Right now, death is definitely the worst pvp school. I am not saying that they can’t win in pvp against a balance or ice, but if a death and some other school with same stats and skill level faced each other, the other scool would probably win unless the rng was not working in their favor.

        • The Power

Few blades with Epic Deer Knight will kill most groups of mobs. 😛 But I won’t disagree with you that Death is suffering in 1v1. However Vampire is really good and spammable. Especially with Red Ghost bubble up.

Why has myth trap an image of myth fuel?

    • Cody RavenTamer

I believe that it’s actually a Myth Windstorm but the card visual is bugged.

  • Hannahredriver

Anyone has a clue about a hybrid raging bull and ghulture, please?

    • Alex Thunderstaff

There are 15 hybrids around, so check the list to see if that combination exist.
